My name is Dan Vo and I have been a volunteer Ambassador at the Victoria and Albert museum since 2013 and am a member of the museum’s LGBTQ (Lesbsian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer) Working Group. In 2015 I founded the permanent LGBTQ Tour at the museum which has gone on to win accolades at the London Volunteers in Museums Awards and Kensington and Chelsea Volunteers Awards.
I have worked in radio production for more than a decade, and have been writing and speaking about queer social and cultural history for the same amount of time. In 2015, I launched Salon Outrē, a collective of LGBTQ dance, choral and spoken word performers, which has had performances at the V&A museum and the William Morris Gallery.
I am a director of independent creative agency Heavy Entertainment in London, producing content for the BBC and top UK publishers. I have served on the board of directors at the Radio Independents Group (RIG) and the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA). I manage PR for LGBT History Month and was a former senior manager at Melbourne-based LGBTQ radio station JOY 94.9.
